I agree that we may still be up against it to make the finals, the case for it is King and Phillipou put us at 6 new players on the 2025 side replacing Byrnes, Jones and Heath types. With King out we effectively played without a real full forward all year. IF he is healthy and you throw in Marshall that's where the offensive improvement this team needs comes from.
Either way, it's fun to be having a crack and seemingly annoying people who cover the game with the approach.
Hi Callum, yeah, I agree. There's certainly scope for improvement as players who've been on the list for a while develop and become healthy. King's fitness is massive to this side, he provides them with a reference point that no number of medium marking forwards (with due respect to Owens et al) can quite replicate.
Criticising St Kilda for being too meek/passive on one hand and then criticising them for having a crack now (as some less scrupulous media commentators have done) feels churlish.
